Invention activities for kids that use what you already have
The Woodland Inventors' Workshop is full of invention activities for kids that turn a box of recycling into a real lab. Kids follow the Inventor's Loop (Wonder, Sketch, Build, Tweak) to make things that help their family, their friends and the forest.
Twenty-four printable STEM challenge cards spark ideas like an umbrella for a firefly or a bridge that holds a toy. These recycled building challenges grow problem solving, resilience and kindness, with blueprints for ages 4 to 6 and 7 to 10, a test log and an official patent certificate.
All you need is tape, scissors and a box of clean recycling.
